Featured Renovation Project
Orton House, Hendra
Located within an established street in Hendra, Orton House involved the renovation and extension of a pre-1946 character home.
The site was affected by Brisbane City Council’s Traditional Building Character provisions, requiring the retention of the existing front façade and key character elements. This meant the design needed to work with the existing home rather than replace it.
As part of this Brisbane home renovation, the layout was reconfigured to improve natural light, functionality and the connection to outdoor living areas. New additions were designed to complement the original dwelling while providing the space and flexibility needed for modern family life.
A key part of the brief was creating a home that felt personal to the owners. Rather than following short-term design trends, the focus was on developing a home that reflected their lifestyle, personality and the way they wanted to live.
The result is a home that retains its original character while feeling uniquely their own.
