Start A Project

Start with a free 15-minute introductory call to discuss your project at a high level. This conversation helps clarify your project scope and determine the most appropriate next step, which may include an on-site consultation.

Where appropriate, meetings may also be held via Microsoft Teams.

An on-site consultation is a paid, in-person meeting where we discuss your project and review the property together. This allows us to understand the space in context and determine whether we’re the right fit to proceed.

On-site consultations are arranged by email.

What does the architectural process involve, and how long does it take?

It starts with an initial consultation where we listen to your ideas and explore what’s possible. From there, we move into the design phase, developing concepts that reflect your vision. Once the design is approved, we get into the nitty-gritty of documentation, preparing detailed drawings and specifications. The timeline varies depending on the project’s complexity, but we’re here to keep things moving smoothly, ensuring we meet your goals on time.

How much will my project cost, and how do you determine your fees?

We understand that budget is a big concern, and transparency is key. Our fees are determined based on the scope of your project and the services you need. Whether it’s a fixed fee or a percentage of the project cost, we’ll provide a clear breakdown, so you know exactly where your investment is going. We’re all about delivering value without any surprises!

Can you help with getting the necessary permits and approvals?

Absolutely! We know how daunting navigating regulations can be, and we’re here to simplify the process for you. We manage all the logistics and collaborate with your consultants—engineers, town planners, certifiers, and more—to make sure every necessary permit and approval is in place. You can rest easy, knowing the paperwork will be handled with care, allowing you to focus on your project..

How do you incorporate my ideas and needs into the design?

Your vision is at the heart of everything we do. We kick off the process by really getting to know you—your style, needs, and aspirations. Throughout the design process, we’ll collaborate closely, inviting your feedback at every stage. It’s a partnership, and we’re committed to making sure the final design feels like a true reflection of you.

What makes you different from other architects?

At D’lek Architects, we don’t just take the usual route—we explore what works best for you. Our creativity isn’t just about dreaming big; it’s about finding solutions that make sense for your life. You can count on us to handle your project with care, making sure every idea is thoughtfully considered and every choice is made with you in mind. Plus, we’re all about keeping things relaxed and enjoyable—because great design should be fun!

At D’lek Architects, we deeply honor the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we design and build. Their enduring connection to land, sea, and community guides and inspires us. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We celebrate their cultural heritage and contributions to our shared future.

Don’t be shy – we’re as friendly as they come!
